installed components at an end-product manufacturing facility. They
; }9 a8 j/ I: ^5 Aare defined as components consisting of two or more wires joined
2 Z9 e2 w" \+ e; gelectrically and/or mechanically, and may include connectors, plugs,9 z8 ]9 Y" N' t- q& X3 C
strain reliefs, splices, etc. When assembled at an off-site location,

not possible at an end-product factory location. This program can2 q3 W7 n3 ~; F1 e, l8 m
be used to provide this traceability. Each wiring harness is normally
% i. V1 X \% B } U+ pconstructed in accordance with a harness diagram and is generally
v" n: @! q$ J# [designed for a specific application that is indicated on a diagram
# q1 |- ^& K9 l7 P5 h( h, y" cor carton marking. These wiring harnesses are not intended for5 l7 y* z4 v5 F6 T) h& k8 D
field installation. An assembly consisting solely of a cord set, power
, u; c8 t' T: U+ o) ?7 ]4 rsupply cord or power supply cord attached to an appliance such as

7 `2 X# u" Y0 h( d5 w* l1 l0 pMethod of traceability
$ l2 @9 f; N7 d; F5 {8 AAn off-site fabricator assembles a wiring harness in accordance with
9 l* ]# W" P2 Xa harness diagram, print or other specification from an end-product2 E: Y) l! G( G+ J
manufacturer that details construction elements and components/ F4 D) G& k6 ~+ A4 y2 |# z
to be used in assembling a harness. A harness manufacturer
+ A V8 V+ }) ~) l4 ^6 [will assemble a harness in accordance with these specifications. [9 \' c% C3 y+ t: q6 o
and, provided that a wiring harness is in compliance with these
