1.1 These requirements cover household cooking equipment that is floor or cabinet supported,9 y1 z$ z- t8 `# x4 ], |3 Y
wall-mounted, counter mounted, or combinations thereof, rated 600 V or less, for installation in

equipment, or that are separately supported on the building structure but arranged for factory-provided

heating appliances. These requirements do not cover all tests required on household cooking appliances

assemblies, or combinations thereof. A range is considered to be a combination of a surface assembly

for mounting in or on a wall or other vertical surface of a building or cabinet. Counter-mounted cooking

horizontal surface of a building or cabinet.

coming within its scope – ventilating hoods, ranges, wall-mounted ovens, counter-mounted cooking units,$ p' h7 Z8 r$ p2 h( [! }
or combinations thereof – are so identified. In the absence of such specific reference, or if the term

* U/ d) S% `$ d- L" e% Wfrom those covered by the requirements in this standard, and that involves a risk of fire or of electric shock

requirements to maintain the level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of this standard. A
